In our drive to continue to raise standards we have identified a direct link between attendance and attainment. It seems very obvious to say that pupils with good attendance succeed far better than those whose attendance is poor. National Figures, as shown in the table below, reflect our concern in terms of the impact of absence on examination success.

- Inform school immediately on the first day of absence.
- After illness make sure your child makes a prompt return to school.
