The Sedgefield School Sport Partnership comprises 7 secondary schools, 3 secondary special schools, 37 Primary schools, 1 Primary special school and a Pupil Referral Unit serving the communities of Spennymoor, Newton Aycliffe, Shildon, Ferryhill and Sedgefield and the rural villages around those areas.

Sedgefield Community College as a Specialist Sports College is the hub of the partnership and hosts the central team of Partnership Development Manager, Competition and Events Manager and Multi-skills Coach.

 

The SSP is working together to provide all 5-19 years with a 5 hour offer of PE and Sport - 2 hours of curriculum PE, a minimum of one hour for each student after school and signposting the young people to further opportunities in their local community in order to achieve the 5 hour offer.

 

The SSP is funded entirely by direct grant from government as part of the national PE and Sport Strategy for Young People.
