World Book Day : What we do
World Book Day is a celebration! It’s a celebration of authors, of illustrators, of books and (most importantly) it’s a celebration of reading. In fact, it’s the biggest celebration of its kind.

Thanks to the generosity of National Book Tokens Ltd, publishers and booksellers, we can send millions of book vouchers to children and young people on the day (more than 14 million, in fact: that’s one for nearly every child aged under eighteen in the country).

About Your Book Token
When you get your book token, all you need to do is to take it to your local bookshop (there’s lots of them out there – find your local participating bookshop and swap it for one of the eight (exclusive, new and completely free) £1 World Book Day books.
Or, if you’d prefer, you can use your book token to get £1 off any full price book instead!
And if you’d rather get an audio book, that’s fine too!
So that’s £1 off any book or audio book, it’s your choice, just as long as it would normally cost at least £2.99
Then all YOU have to do is take your book home and enjoy it.

    Teen Reads - Hunger Games

Could you survive on your own, in the wild, with everyone fighting against you?

Twenty-four are forced to enter. Only the winner survives. In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. Each year, the districts are forced by the Capitol to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the Hunger Games, a brutal and terrifying fight to the death - televised for all of Panem to see.
Survival is second nature for sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who struggles to feed her mother and younger sister by secretly hunting and gathering beyond the fences of District 12. When Katniss steps in to take the place of her sister in the Hunger Games, she knows it may be her death sentence. If she is to survive, she must weigh survival against humanity and life against love.
WINNING WILL MAKE YOU FAMOUS. LOSING MEANS CERTAIN DEATH.

The film is due to be released in March 2012.
