Staff and students went head-to-head this week in a fundraising initiative for BBC’s charity Children in Need. Over £450 was raised, as students set staff the daunting target of completing 5,000 burpees during Friday lunchtime. In just 20 minutes, staff accumulated 5,300 burpees to surpass the student target.
Charity coordinator for the school, Mr McGeary said, “Once more the staff and students of the college have united to raise a huge amount of money and awareness for Children in Need.
“To go with our previous ice-bucket and leg waxing efforts in recent years, we have now left another legacy for staff and students to be proud of, with our ‘staff versus students burpee challenge.’
“On behalf of the school, I’d like to thank everyone involved, and we look forward to supporting the charity again next year, alongside our other charitable commitments throughout the school calendar.”
