During the summer school governors embarked upon a period of consultation to gather views regarding proposals to convert to academy status and join the Laidlaw Schools Trust. Following an extensive period of due diligence carried out by the governors the decision was taken to incorporate, as an academy into the trust. This decision largely being taken for the simple reason that joining the Laidlaw Schools Trust offers the college significant opportunities to develop in ways that would not be otherwise possible.
In spite of the many successes that the college has achieved, rather than ‘resting on our laurels’, it has been, and remains the aim of Governors to continually strive to improve what we offer both our students and the wider community. We are of the belief that by formally joining the Laidlaw Schools Trust (at some point during the Spring term) this ongoing aspiration can be realised.
